I took the family on the hike. I was worried my 2 year old might have to be carried most of the way but the little trooper walked 80% of the way up the trail to the fire tower, 80% up the the tower, and 80% on my shoulders coming down. My 9 year old enjoyed the hike and the views. We even took our dog. He loved it, too. Make sure to bring lots of water for you and your pets, if you bring them. There is broken glass in many of the key areas.

Enjoy the climb! A vigorous workout. To make it worthwhile, go all the way to the fire tower. On a clear day you'll easily see the Manhattan skyline.

I'm not a seasoned hiker but I was able to conquer this with a few rest stops along the way. Scenery is beautiful and once you get to the top, it's breathtaking! Definitely worth the hard work.

Roughly 2 hours hike to the top with Beautiful view. Very good for group outing.

Don't be fooled by the hike. The hike up to the Casino ruins/Beacon Overlook is only a mile but it's a rocky trail full of switchbacks and all ascending. But the views are gorgeous overlooking Beacon, Newburgh and Hudson River
